Texas has such beautiful wildflower displays each spring, and the display of painted flowers in our room is no exception! We read stories about these flowers, including some Native American folktales and a silly one about cows eating bluebonnets. The message at the heart of each story was respecting our natural world, an important value for our children no matter what season of the year.
As we watched the children paint, we recognized the wonderful progress each of our kids has made. Their ability to control the paint brush, their increased shoulder strength allowing them to paint on the easel for longer times, and truly....their enjoyment of the process and their finished picture....
Take a look at our Texas wildflowers the next time you are in our room! |
